Thank you for taking action to fundraise for Peter Mac. It’s people like you that help drive our research forward toward exciting new breakthroughs and treatments.

Starting your own fundraising activity is easy, but we know it can be difficult to know where to begin. Our fundraising checklist points you in the right direction and is a great way to make sure nothing is forgotten.

Before you fundraise

Read our Fundraising Guidelines [PDF 475KB] thoroughly

Develop your fundraising idea and set a fundraising goal

Consider the expenses associated with your activity and how to minimise them.

Use the activity budget provided in your application to make sure you’ve included everything and aim to raise $2 or more for every $1 you spend

Consider any legal or safety issues that you may need to address (you may need to check with your local council or State Government authority)

Complete our online Fundraising Application Form

Wait to hear from us with an Authority to Fundraise. You will need this authority before you can begin fundraising.

Print a Receipt Request Form [XLSX 12KB] to record all donations as they are made


Starting your fundraising 

Develop a fundraising plan:

  • What are all the tasks involved?
  • How will you promote the activity?
  • Who do you know that can help you? 

Assign tasks and begin implementing the project

Set up an online fundraising page (this is easy – you can do it here).

Seek approval to include the Peter Mac name or logo in any posters, media releases, websites, or other promotional activities.

Promote your activity.

Ask your friends, family and colleagues to donate!


Within 14 days after your activity

Provide Peter Mac the money you raised at your event. Find out how

Send Peter Mac your Receipt Request Form so receipts and thank you letters can be sent to donors.

Thank your donors.

Celebrate your success!
