Trusts and foundations
Gifts from trusts and foundations have allowed Peter Mac to take great leaps forward in the search for cancer cures, and research to improve patient care.
Some of the recent activities made possible thanks to the contributions of trusts and foundations include:
- A research project to gather evidence about unmet psychological needs and associated service development opportunities for men with prostate cancer, funded by a gift from The Freemasons Public Charitable Foundation.
- The purchase of a Nanostring nCounter Genomics Platform, a new evolution of genomic technologies that is used to rapidly and reliably analyse very small amounts of genetic material from patient samples. This purchase was made possible with a gift from the Joe White Bequest.
- The purchase of a new plate reader, a piece of equipment which is used by our researchers in high-throughput gene sequencing for new cancer drugs. This purchase was made possible by The Honda Foundation.
