Sarah Hornby
Biography
Sarah has over 15 years’ experience in major gift fundraising and philanthropic donor management. During her first 14 years in the for-purpose sector, she worked in International Development, raising funds for sustainable development and poverty alleviation projects, in various roles – leading a state and national portfolio, running an Ambassador Program and facilitating events and hosting trips to visit projects supported by donors in India and Indonesia.
She first connected with Peter Mac in 2016 when she was treated for Hodgkin Lymphoma, and again in 2020, when she was successfully treated for bowel cancer. Combining her personal experience with cancer with her professional expertise, Sarah came to the Peter Mac Foundation in September 2022, to lead the Philanthropy team. She credits her survivorship to cutting edge research, which resulted in world-class treatment – funded by generous donors – and is passionate about continuing that legacy.
