Andrew (Gibbo) Gibson was only 54 years old when he was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer, and sadly passed away less than 20 weeks later. A father of three and husband to wife Helen, Gibbo was loved by his family and friends. Pancreatic cancer affects thousands of Australian families each year. Gibbo's wish was to raise money for pancreatic cancer research so other families may be spared the same pain and suffering.

In February 2023, Gibbo's family and friends organised “A Gig for Gibbo" to fundraise for Peter Mac in his honour. The event included live music from Cupid in Denim and Queen tribute band, Queen Rocks, along with food, drinks and a silent auction.

A Gig for Gibbo raised an incredible $85,511 for pancreatic cancer research in Andrew's memory

After the event, Gibbo’s wife Helen and their three daughters visited us at Peter Mac to tour the labs where vital cancer research is happening every day.
