Ride to Fight Cancer 2024 Update

07 March 2024

This year, the Peter MacCallum Cancer Foundation has made the difficult decision to postpone the Ride to Fight Cancer virtual event scheduled for March 2024. Instead, it will re-unite cyclists with walkers for a Unite to Fight Cancer virtual event in October 2024.

Peter Mac Cancer Foundation CEO, Kate Torney OAM, said the decision to move the Ride to Fight Cancer virtual event to October 2024, will also provide the opportunity to consider a re-imagined physical event in 2025.

“The decision to postpone the Ride to Fight Cancer was a challenging one, and not one that I took lightly. However, my team and I are committed to bringing you an event that matches the passion and commitment of our riders and their supporters. And most importantly, an event which delivers more funds to support life-saving cancer research at Peter Mac.

“I am sincerely grateful for the passion of our cycling community helping to raise almost $962,000 to accelerate cancer research at Peter Mac by way of our Ride to Fight Cancer virtual challenges in 2022 and 2023.

“I know that many of you have the 10-day virtual cycling challenge in March marked on your calendars, united in your passion to make positive change for cancer treatment and accelerate the search for cures.

“There will be an opportunity for riders to once again join forces and enjoy the flexibility that a virtual event provides. We look forward to inviting registrations for the Unite to Fight Cancer 2024 virtual event later in the year.

I thank you for your contribution and ongoing support.”
